Blue Ridge electric company Blue Ridge Power, Inc. is buying equipment to enhance its power generation capacity in North Carolina and is seeking bids on additional equipment to further enhance its electric power generation capability, the company announced Wednesday.
In a statement, the utility said the purchase of equipment would improve Blue Ridge’s capacity to supply electricity to customers in North Charleston, Charleston, North Charleston and Winston-Salem counties.
The utility is also adding two more employees to its operations to increase the number of electric-generating personnel in the power generation area, the statement said.
Bidder requests will be accepted until the end of October and the equipment will be delivered by mid-January 2019.
Bids will be solicited via email and through the company’s website, the announcement said.
The purchase is expected to close in the first half of 2020, according to the company.
Bidding is due by Nov. 6, 2020, and the company expects to receive a final tender in March 2021, the firm said.
