SOUTH SIDE, Texas – A South Side electric pool water heater has been installed over the side of a home in a suburban Dallas suburb, the company said.
The $2 million project was the largest in the company’s history and is part of the $3 billion purchase of the North Texas city-owned utility, Southside Energy said in a statement.
The South Side Energy spokesman said the water heater installed in the home was connected to a new system in a new facility at the nearby North Texas Energy Center.
The utility said it was installing the new system for the first time this summer in the area where the South Side home was built.
The utility has said it expects to receive about $4.4 million for the project over five years.
The company also has a $6.4 billion contract with South Side Power to buy about 600 megawatts of power from South Side Electric.
The company has said its plans to buy another 100 megawatts from South Point Energy.
